Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Mrs. Lourdes Bulnes is a first-generation college graduate who earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Florida International University in 1990. Since then, she has been inspiring, educating, and caring for young learners for over 30 years. Fluent in English and Spanish, she has taught First Grade General Education, ESOL Self-Contained and Extended Foreign Language for over 28 years at Charles R. Hadley Elementary.  She has earned the role of First Grade Level Chair where her communication and leadership skills have proven to be an invaluable asset to the school.

With a truly personalized approach to education, Mrs. Bulnes loves to combine fun and lifelong lessons into her classroom where her students are encouraged to spread kindness, boost courage, and overcome barriers. Not only do her students earn the confidence and skills to continue as young adults, but she has also helped multiple student interns progress into exceptional Miami-Dade County Public School teachers with the help of her guidance and counsel. When asked to provide a piece of advice for her students, Mrs. Bulnes said, “each day is an opportunity to learn something new, share a positive message, and be grateful for all that you have.”

Mrs. Bulnes married her high school sweetheart, has two successful children, and a dog named Opus. Over the years, she has shown a multitude of support for organizations such as the American Heart Association, United Cerebral Palsy, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation, Cedars Medical Center, International Kids Fund of Jackson Memorial Hospital, Diabetes Research Institute, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Alongside her husband, Mrs. Bulnes was chosen as a couple of distinction in 1996 for their support to the Women’s Cancer League of Miami Beach in collaboration with Jackson Memorial Hospital Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
