I was born in Cuba many moons ago, but luckily came to the United States when I was just a toddler. Lived in Hoboken, New Jersey until I was seven and then most of our family relocated to Miami and its warmer climate. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher but could not afford to live on a teacher’s salary so I opened my own video store in Coral Gables: Lion Video. Later, after selling the business, I decided to get my degree from Barry University. I’ve been teaching for 18 years and love the challenge each group of new students bring to the table. I enjoy learning as much as I enjoy teaching, and challenge myself to mark off items on my bucket list yearly. Traveling, learning new languages, and writing take up most of my spare time.
